Spice Up Your Morning with a Delectable Bowl of Oatmeal
Multiple Ways to Turn Ordinary Oats into Out of the Ordinary Delicious!
It’s 1030 am and your stomach starts to growl, problem is those hungerpangs tend to come at the most inconvenient time, you’re busy at work, or just too busy to drop everything to eat. Often times when this happens you find yourself reaching for something quick, which frequently translates into something high in sugar, calories and fat. Want to maximize the benefit of your morning meal? Think oatmeal!
Here’s the deal, oats are loaded with fiber (about 4-5 grams in ½ cup serving). Not only do oats help keep you fuller longer but they also help keep your blood sugar level, and have an added benefit of reducing the absorption of cholesterol in your bloodstream. So how’s that for a hearty health benefit?
Oatmeal in the Market
Instant Oatmeal is the most highly processed oatmeal and also tends to be lower in fiber.
Quick Oats are less processed then instant oatmeal and take slightly longer to cook then instant oats.
Steel-Cut Oats are the least processed but take the longest to cook.
Whenever possible, stick to the old fashioned or steel-cut oats for premium nutritional value.
