Five Ways to Stay Healthy During the Holidays

The week between Christmas and New Years can be tough time to keep up your healthy eating habits. There are holiday treats everywhere. Many people have time off work, which can be an invitation to eat more and lots of extra time spent loafing on the sofa.

Some advice on how you can be sure to NOT pack on post-Christmas pounds.

  • Cut back on the booze-save the calories for a treat on Christmas Day
  • Clear out your house of cookies, candies and holiday treats as soon as the clock strikes December 26.
  • Make sure you continue recording your food during the holidays-accountability is the key to staying on track with healthy eating habits.
  • Step on the scale and record your weight weekly. Manage the damage ASAP, hiding from the truth only leads to packing on the pounds.
  • Get moving-plan regular family outdoor activities like hiking, biking, or a fast walk around the neighborhood.
