Meal planning/prepping is the key to eating healthy. The good news is that you don’t have to be a super organized person to prep meals – you just need to keep certain ingredients on hand! Let’s think for a moment about what exactly we need when figuring out how to prep meals…


Meal planning tips

1.Once a week, go to the grocery store and stock your freezer full of chicken, fish and lean meat. I have a family of 6 so I buy 2+ pounds of chicken, fish and lean meat each week.

2.Keep your pantry stocked with a variety of ingredients

  • Canned organic tomatoes
  • Canned organic beans
  • Lentils
  • Brown rice
  • Pasta
  • Dried herbs and spices
  • Olive oil
  • Canola oil
  • Sesame oil

3.Keep multiple sauces and broth on hand

  • Marinara
  • Mustard
  • Pesto
  • Soy sauce
  • Enchilada sauce
  • Veggie, chicken and beef broth
